FAQ

Answers to the most common questions about HikePod mini projectors — specs, setup, streaming, shipping, and returns.

What's the difference between the HikePod S1 and HikePod X1 projectors?

The HikePod S1 (HY300 style) runs Android 12 with WiFi 6 and built-in streaming apps, 4K decoding, up to a 130" projected image, Bluetooth 5.0, and auto keystone correction — no extra streaming device needed. The HikePod X1 (HY320 style) is rated at 300 ANSI Lumens with a 720P native resolution panel, 4K decoding support, Android 11.0, wireless screen mirroring, auto vertical keystone + 4-point digital correction, and HDMI/USB ports for wired connections. Both project images from 40" up to 130" depending on placement distance.

How far should I place the projector from the wall or screen?

Image size scales with distance: moving the projector closer produces a smaller, brighter image, while moving it farther back produces a larger image, from about 40" up to 130" diagonal. For the exact throw-distance chart for your unit, check the quick-start guide included in the box.

Do I need a separate projector screen, or can I project onto a wall?

You can project onto any flat, light-colored, matte wall for casual use. For the best contrast, color accuracy, and a true home-theater look (especially outdoors or for movie nights), we recommend a dedicated projector screen, such as our foldable 16:9 HD screen available in sizes from 60" to 150".

What does "ANSI Lumens" mean, and how bright are HikePod projectors?

ANSI Lumens is the industry-standard way to measure projector brightness. The HikePod X1 is rated at 300 ANSI Lumens. Like most portable/mini projectors in this class, HikePod projectors perform best in a dim or dark room; for the sharpest picture, avoid bright ambient light or direct sunlight on the screen.

Can I stream Netflix, YouTube, and Prime Video directly on the projector?

Yes. The HikePod S1 runs Android 12 with built-in app support and WiFi 6 for buffer-free streaming with no extra device required. The HikePod X1 runs Android 11.0 and also supports wireless screen mirroring, so you can cast any app — including Netflix, YouTube, and Prime Video — from your phone or laptop.

Can I mirror my phone or laptop screen wirelessly?

Yes. Both models support wireless connection from a phone or laptop (WiFi 6 smart-OS apps on the S1, wireless screen mirroring on the X1). The HikePod X1 also has HDMI and USB ports for a wired connection if you prefer.
